Tooth Bleaching

Tooth bleaching is not just for those Movie starts, millions of people are having their teeth bleached and few millions are thinking to take the process. Today the procedure has become easy, cheaper and giving instant results. It is also the safest method as per supervised by the dentists and the results last for up to 5 years.

Bleaching is done to almost 90 percent of the patients who come for removing the satins that was caused by aging, tea or smoking. The stains require bleaching process that will oxidize the same. In certain cases bleaching may give the desired results like in the cases of the teeth that are darkened with the yellow or brown color. Bleaching is also not done to patients who have sensitive teeth or have any disease or having the teeth worn with enamel.

Take the consultation of the doctor who will determine the level of bleaching that will be required for the teeth. Those who want to whiten their teeth quickly can do the bleaching process either at the dentist or at home.

While the treatment done at the dentist will be using the laser light to accelerate the process the home treatment will not be having any requirement of light. Still most of the patients do the bleaching process at home as it is more economical. The same results are produced if one takes the treatment either at home or office.

Those who do not wish to take the treatment by laser bleaching, the dentist will suggest using custom made trays filled with gel and fitted to the teeth. The impressions of the teeth are casted and the trays are made that will fit tightly to the teeth. As per instruction, bleaching can be done 4 to 5 times a day and the process can be repeated for at least 5 to 6 weeks. The duration of the treatment depends on the amount of stains that were caused. Make sure the trays have to be fitted at night time for better results.

In certain cases the whiteness remains for few years and after which one can go for a touch-up. The ingredient responsible for the whitening is nothing but carbamide peroxide which is also called urea peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide on getting in contact with water lightens the teeth and the bleaching process begins. The higher the concentration of the carbamide peroxide, the faster will be the bleaching process and greater the sensitivity.
